TERMS AND CONDITIONS PROMOVERITAS COMMENTS 20 June 2009
ELIGILIBITY
- The Last Call promotion is open to residents of the UK, Denmark, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, France, Germany, Spain and Sweden and the REST of EUROPE aged 18 or over, subject to the conditions in clause 4 below and excluding Samsung employees, agents or their families, or that of any other company associated with the promotion.
- Entrants must submit their registration using their own name. Other names and aliases will result in disqualification.
- All contestants must be of good character and free from criminal convictions (apart from minor traffic offences). Samsung seeks to maintain high standards in all that it does, those who have in any way been involved in any illegal or immoral activities must not enter – should they do so and this is brought to the organiser’s attention, they will be instantly disqualified.
- Only one entry per person is permitted.
- Contestants are required to be
- in possession of a valid EU passport for their country of residence, and be available to travel to London between 7 and 9 July 2009.
- to prove that they have been in possession of the mobile phone number submitted on the entry form for at least three months. Proof of date of ownership will be required.
- In entering The Last Call, contestants:
- Warrant that all information they provide at all stages of the competition is true, current and complete.
- Confirm that, to the best of their knowledge, they have no medical condition that could be adversely affected by any of the activities or events planned or reasonably expected to be involved in The Last Call.
- Agree to participate in all filming and publicity used for promotion, at all stages of the competition.
- Confirm their availability on 7 and 8 July 2009 to attend The Last Call final in London.)(all reasonable expenses will be paid for by the organisers)
COMPETITION RULES
SIGN-UP
- Contestants will be signed up in person via our Selection teams that will be present in London between 15 June 2009 and 29 June 2009 at 23.59 GMT.
- All such contestants must be over 18 at time of entry and be available for the Final to take place in London 7 & 8 July 2009.
- Winners must attend in person. The prize is not transferable.
- In the event that any of the ten finalists from each country are unable to be contacted or fail the eligibility requirements or cannot attend the Final, the places will be allocated to a reserve entrant from that country.
- By agreeing to attend the London Final of The Last Call, contestants are committing to full participation in the event. This will include providing information about their social networking sites and any other information required for their Campaign page PLUS actively persuading people not to contact them during the 24 hours of the final of The Last Call, and having regular contact with Remedy Productions.
PRE-EVENT
- Country Finalists will be required to travel from their home to Matter Nightclub at the 02 in London on 7 July 2009.
- Reasonable travel costs will be provided by the Promoter and information on travel, accommodation and event itineraries will be provided by Remedy TV. This must be adhered to by all finalists. No changes or alternations will be allowed once arrangements have been agreed.
- The Promoter is not responsible for loss or damage however caused to or by finalists at any stage of travel or accommodation or participation.
- The Promoter will undertake due diligence to ensure the event satisfies health and safety requirements. However, it is incumbent on each finalist to take all reasonable steps to ensure their own health and safety.
- Any conduct by finalists (including abusive behaviour, physical or psychological) posing any medical, security or safety risk or to cause reputational damage will lead to immediate disqualification.
- The Final will take place in Matter at the 02 Centre, London from 6pm on 7th July to approximately 6pm on 8th July 2009
- Prior to travel to the venue, all Finalists will need to :
- Have their mobile phone ( with charger) tested for suitability for the competition
- Show proof that the mobile and telephone number has been in use for three months, in the form of original telephone bills.
- Sign release forms and health and safety waivers.
- Show a valid EU passport or a photo driving licence.
- Show proof of address in the form of a utility bill.
- Provide Remedy Productions with their Emergency contact details.
- Ensure that their clothing and footwear is comfortable and appropriate and free of heavy branding, libellous, defamatory, obscene, or indecent text or images.
Finalists failing to meet any of these requirements will not be able to participate in the Final.
- Finalists must take reasonable precautions with their Personal belongings at the accommodation and venue, as the Promoter is not responsible for loss, damage or theft.
- Prior to attending the Final, all finalists and personal belongings will be subject to a security check because Finalists must not carry on their person, or purchase or consume, illegal substances, artificial stimulants, or alcohol, during The Last Call Final.
THE FINAL EVENT
- All Finalists will submit their current mobile phone prior to the Final. This will be kept secure at the venue and monitored by PromoVeritas, the independent promotional verification service, for any incoming calls and text messages.
- All finalists’ personal mobile phones will be regularly and randomly checked to ensure that it is set to receive incoming calls and texts.
- Finalists will be provided with a pre-configured Beat DJ mobile phone , headphone set and a new unique Last Call phone number. Each handset will be set to a continual, 24 hour playlist, to which finalists must dance continuously. There will be 10-minute refreshment and comfort breaks every 2 hours and 30 minute food and comfort breaks every 6 hours.
- If the current mobile phone of any Finalist receives an incoming call or text message during the period of the Final (apart from unrequested messages from network service providers) this will result in the elimination of that finalist via a call from the event producer to their Beat DJ handset, with the instruction to leave the dance floor immediately.
- During the competition random Last Call phone numbers will be selected under independent supervision and promoted on the lastcall.tv website adjacent to a contestant’s photo. If members of the public choose to call or text these numbers, this will count as a valid communication and will result in the elimination of that Finalist. The producer will call the finalist and they will be asked to leave the dance floor.
- For the purposes of the competition, dancing is defined as movement of the upper and lower body (purportedly in rhythm to the music) and adherence to this rule will be solely at the discretion of the Promoter with the support of the independent adjudicator.
- The dance floor will be divided into 100 squares, one for each finalist. Each square will measure 60 cm/sq. Finalists will be required to dance within their allocated square for the duration of the competition. Leaving it, other than at permitted break times, will result in immediate elimination.
- Finalists will not be permitted to adjust their Beat DJ handset at any stage of the competition, and must notify a member of staff to change battery or to adjust volume of audio playback.
- Finalists eliminated during the event must leave the dance floor immediately and without interference to the other Finalists. They are required to attend a post-elimination interview, for online broadcast. They will then be permitted to remain at the venue to observe the remainder of the competition, or can be transported back to their accommodation.
- The winner of The Last Call Final will be the Finalist who dances for the longest period of time without receiving a telephone call or text message on their mobile (apart from network service provider messages). The winner must stay on the dance floor until they have received a call from September on their allocated Beat DJ handset
- In the event that more than one Finalist remains at the end of the 24 hour period, the random phone number process will be repeated until a winner is concluded. This will involve releasing on the live streaming broadcasting and / or webpages the phone numbers that are assigned to a finalist’s mobile phone. The finalist that receives “The Last Call” is deemed the winner.
POST-EVENT
- The winners name and country will be available from the www.thelastcall.tv website after 9th July.
THE PRIZE
- The winner of The Last Call Final will receive a cheque for €10,000 which is to be used to take September on a dinner date. The date and city location of the dinner date will be subject to the availability of September and subject to agreement by the Promoter who will also cover the winners necessary travel and accommodation expenses.
- Within the constraints of 2 above, the winner will be able to select the restaurant of their choice and having paid for the meal, will be able to keep the change from the total prize money of €10,000.
- The winner will be required to partake in filming and press promotion after the event and during the dinner date.
CONFIDENTIALITY
- Last Call Finalists will not be permitted to disclose to third-parties any aspect of The Last Call event or the Beat DJ phone, unless instructed otherwise by the Promoters.
DATA PROTECTION
- Data submitted by entrants to The Last Call will be used and stored in accordance with the requirements of the UK Data Protection Act 1998.
- Names, ages and cities of residence of all contestants may be made public on The Last Call website. Email addresses, dates of birth and mobile phone numbers will not.
- In submitting data to The Last Call, contestants are giving consent to having their information used by the Promoter and shared with its affiliated companies in order that they can provide information on promotions, products, services and offers in future.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- In entering The Last Call, contestants acknowledge that, to the best of their knowledge, they have no medical condition that could be adversely affected by any of the events or activities planned or reasonably expected to be involved in the Last Call Final .
- Contestants must take all reasonable steps to ensure their own health and safety, for which The Promoter is not responsible.
- Contestants are obliged to follow the health and safety advice offered by the Promoter and or the requirements of the venue, but acknowledge that all activities are undertaken at their own risk.
- Medical advice and medical representatives will be provided at The Last Call final.
PLEASE NOTE
- The Promoter reserves the right to:
- Cancel or amend any aspect of the competition and rules at any time without prior notice and at its sole discretion..
- Disqualify any contestant if there are reasonable grounds to believe eligibility guidelines or competition rules have been breached.
- Reallocate the prize for either the Country finalists or the Final in London if the selected contestant fails to or is unable to accept the prize or comply with the stated arrangements.
